The Product Vision Board creates a one-page alignment artefact that connects your highest-level aspiration to the people you serve, what they need, what you'll build, and how you'll measure success. Designed for strategic alignment before detailed planning begins.
What is our product vision and how do we measure whether we are achieving it?
Align the team around product direction with Roman Pichler's five-row framework: Vision, Target Personas, Needs, Solutions, and Success Metrics. A vertical story from aspiration to measurement.
Created by Roman Pichler as a lightweight alternative to a full product strategy document. Popularised through his book Strategize (Pichler Consulting).
Fill the Vision row last, not first — start with Target Personas and Needs, which grounds the vision in user reality. Each row should follow logically from the one above. If Needs don't connect to Vision, you have a strategic gap.
Don't write a vision statement that could apply to any product. Be specific about who benefits and how. Avoid listing features in Needs — Needs should describe what users want to accomplish, not what you plan to build.
